The long anticipated Electric on Portobello Road had their inaugural opening a couple of months ago, and we were dying to see what changes they would make to the already hip members bar.  To our delight, we were not disappointed – upstairs is cosy and unpretentious and the wooden finish makes it feel like a high-end country comfort away from home.

Love you:  The steak tartare is really good value for money and delicious! With the option to add your own tabasco and pepper, I had mine just the way I like it. The the killer french fries are not to be missed!  Double fried I suspect, they were full of crunch at every bite, nothing like the soggy and pale fries you find at fish and chip shops.

Leave you:  As good as their lunch and dinner menu is, we were disappointed with their breakfast menu.  Unlike their sister restaurant Pizza East, who serve up simple and tasty breakfast options, the Electric breakfast seems to lack the wow factor.  Sure you can have your eggs (anyway you would like) with extras on the side and sure there is a blue cheese, onion and spinach omelette which in theory sounds amazing but we found it to be quite bland.  Our recommendation is to go nuts at lunch or dinner.
