I wasn’t even a big ice-cream fan. Wasn’t. Past tense. The creamy, delicious and busy Messina Gelato started making it old-school Italian style in Surry Hills in 2002, and now have three stores with permanent lines out the front. With 40 rotating flavours like burnt fig, salted caramel yoghurt and pear and rhubarb, even the names are delicious – and once you have a taste, well, I forgot how to talk. (RARE). Unbelievable stuff.
Love you: No doubt about it. No Sydney dinner is complete if it doesn’t end here. At about $7AUD for two scoops this may be the only foodie bargain left in the city.
Leave you: The only change I would make is the line. We only stood there for 5 mins, but patience is really really difficult at this place.
This is the kind of after dinner treat you should rush your dinner for. Highly recommend. http://www.gelatomessina.com/
